IT Support & Operations Specialist

The IT Support & Operations Specialist plays a key role in ensuring smooth technology operations across the organization. This position combines technical support, inventory management, and IT project assistance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of managing multiple responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

IT Support & Helpdesk

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT-related issues, providing timely and effective support to end-users.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network problems, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of support requests and resolutions in the helpdesk system.

Inventory Management

  • Track and manage IT assets, including computers, peripherals, networking equipment, and software licenses.
  • Oversee procurement, deployment, and disposal of IT equipment in compliance with company policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory records and ensure proper labeling and storage of equipment.

IT Projects

  • Assist the IT Manager in planning and executing IT projects, such as system upgrades, migrations, and new technology implementations.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and installation of equipment and services.
  • Participate in testing and quality assurance for new systems and applications.

Building Maintenance Support

  • Collaborate with the IT Manager to address building maintenance needs, including coordination with facilities vendors.
  • Monitor and report on building systems (e.g., HVAC, security, access control) to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Support emergency response and contingency planning for building and IT infrastructure.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience:
    • 1+ years in IT support or similar role.
    • Experience with inventory management systems and IT asset tracking.
    • Familiarity with building maintenance processes is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Proficiency in Windows, networking basics, and common business applications.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move IT equipment as needed.
  • Occasional after-hours support for critical issues or maintenance tasks.
  • Willingness to assist in the department when needed.
